My Current Health Flare

I thought the best way of starting my story was to give a little insight into my current flare up. I’ve been lucky enough to stay at my baseline for awhile, where I get daily aches, pains and fatigue but still manage to live a relatively normal life through pacing and planning.

What I had been suffering with, was a bad back and hip (unrelated conditions) for quite some time but then on the 22nd February, I had seizure activity (aura) and drifted in and out of sleep for the rest of the evening. On the 23rd February, my knees became painful and swollen at the back and I needed my medication and ice. By the 25th I was upping my medication and using my TENS machine as pain began spreading to other areas of my body, and by the 26th I was bedbound (or sofabound in this case) and taking my strongest pain killers.

It still wasn’t enough and by the 2nd March I was on the phone to my GP begging for help. Anything that would stop the pain, the fatigue, the tremors and all the other symptoms that come with my conditions. My dosages were upped, additional pain and nerve medication was given, alongside a whole heap of advice.

Yet here I am, 7th March and still fighting my own body but here’s to hope because sometimes, that’s all you’ve got, and if you haven’t yet guessed some of my conditions, you can find out more by visiting the ‘Conditions’ section.
